The assault to Earth happened then. There was a brutal fight. Borgans didn't expect the earthers were so thought and have magical powers to make things like fly, or throwing energy attacks. In one of the many exchange of shots, Bregor was wounded.
The borgan commander declared a retreat. The units didn't doubt on obeying. In a flash, the ships were aboarded. But there was one borgan who remained in battlefield: Bregor.
Weak and dying, he begged the commander for help, but it was in vain: with a remorseless smile, the commander told him that it would be his punishment for multiple treasons and being weak. The ships left. He stayed.
On his last breaths, he was found by Sarion, a young warrior who helped him to heal his injuries an recover some of energy. Confused by such a honourable act, Bregor asked him why someone would help a dangerous enemy who attempted to attack his home island. According to Sarion, it was because he saw that Bregor didn't have bad intentions, even if he was from the enemy force.
Sarion convinced Bregor to stay, as long as he helped the people that his species attacked and being all loyal to them. After accepting, Bregor was introduced to the village. Obviously, he didn't get a warm welcome; in fact, it took pretty much time until big part of the villagers accepted him as part of their society.
Bregor earned the heart of the dobalians little by little by helping them rebuilding the destroyed houses and teaching them many things that borgans knew about philosophy, advanced calculates, nature knowledge and spiritual peace. Bregor told them about what happened to his planet and him so he was renamed and then known as Metalord, due to his excellent manipulation of metal, which helped a lot to dobalians.
Thanks to all this and the big friendship that was born between him and Sarion, this last one decided to give him the gift of getting an essence, which gave Metalord powers like flying and energy attacks. Not to mention that even his aspect changed as reaction from it.
